Hearts of a Champion.

Last Sunday, August 26, 2012, marked the biggest accomplishment (so far) of the Enderun Titans Women's Futsal team. The Philippine Futsal Cup Winners Cup Taguig Leg was held in the Multipurpose Covered Court of Enderun Colleges. Futsal enthusiasts, together with their supporters and friends, gathered as they fight over the title as Champions of this prestigious tournament.

The day started out slow. At 9am, the games of men's division started. The men's team of Enderun did not make it to the semifinals as they lost to a penalty shoot out. On the other hand, the women's team, which I'm very proud of being a part of, won all the elimination games. We went against Ateneo, Los Burrachos, Futsalistas, Cortexiphan FC. Enderun students, specifically the PE students of our Coach, Eric Galang were there to support us. I've never had such huge crowd cheering for the team- it felt so good. We beat the Los Burrachos in the final to a penalty shoot out. It was so intense and nerve-wrecking when it comes down to shoot outs. It's anyone's game. The feeling was indescribable the moment we learned we won the title. I was such a great accomplishment for us, after just being together under 1 year, to have won the tournament. The icing on the cake? We're in the nationals in Bicol. Sweet!

On the side note, here's what I posted on my facebook page.

"I STILL CAN'T GET OVER THE FACT THAT WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE PHILIPPINE FUTSAL CUP WINNERS CUP-TAGUIG LEG. NATIONALS, HERE WE GO!!!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

I would just like to extend my love and gratitude to all those who came to watch, support, cheer, scream and go all out crazy for us-- yall know who you are. I am so overwhelmed seeing and hearing everyone earlier; although, I know you were tired waiting
for the games to start.

To my teammates, I love you ♥ We're better, stronger, closer as ever. Thank you to, Coach Eric. You never fail to give up on us. In return, you deserve all our dedication, faith, trust, loyalty and everything else.

CHEERS TO A GOOD YEAR FOR US! Too blessed, Thank you, Lord! :*
 "

No words can express how grateful I am to everyone who was there (you know who you are).

Right after we won the penalty shoot-out. No words can describe such happiness painted on our faces.
My epic face. hahaha!
Here's the team with their Pilipinas Futsal jerseys- in pink!
Organize guys. haha!

In the end, the size of a person's accomplishment can best be measured by the size of their heart. :)

From L-R Bottom: Cielai Garcia, Monique Caparros, Julienne Logarta, Mae Salmon and Lora Ledesma

We made a mark on the Philippine Futsal world. :) and that, no one can take this away from us.

To more championships!

The Classic LBD.

I love weekends. Not only because we get to have 2 days off of school, but also we get to relax, enjoy, reunite, have fun with friends. I spend my weekends in different ways. Sometimes I spend it staying in the house to catch up with sleep. Sometimes, I spend it in a friend's house to sleepover. Other times, I spend it out of town, going to the beach or something like that. Last weekend, I spent it partying in bars. Friday night, went to Eden. Saturday night, Relik for Brian's birthday. What I love most about going to these places is that I get to dress up and look all fancy, which I don't do everyday to keep the 'mystery'. People are in awe that there's another side of me outside the typical school girl look.

On what I wore.. The Classic Little Black Dress.
You could never go wrong in an LBD. It's classic, and goes with anything. You could wear it from time to time with different accessories and shoes. Also, it's perfect for any occasion. So when you don't know what to wear on nights out like these, you could trust your LBD to save your life!

Anyway, these are the pictures Saturday night.

Thanks mom for the precious heart diamond necklace.
Confidence is a stain they can't wipe off.
The little black dress. Thank you Promod :)

This is a post-party picture- with my food of course. :)
Thank you to Payless for my printed/colorful wedges.

Givenchy: Mini Pandora.

WONDER WHAT DROVE ME TO PURCHASE THIS PURSE?

For the past 22 years of my existence here on Earth, this was the first time I was so persistent, and passionate about getting this ADORABLE, GORGEOUS, HIP purse, especially that it is branded and comes with a price. I have been the type of person who doesn't go crazy on LVs, Pradas, Chanels, and the like, unlike most girls out there that I know. I usually choose reasonable-priced purses so I could get more. Plus, I don't really use them repeatedly everyday. I like to have choices.

People know me to only wear 'sling' purses since I hate bringing huge ones (I only bring my phones, wallet and car keys with me). It's very convenient, hip, and chill/laid-back style. I wear it daily- to school, mall, night outs, everywhere. I couldn't possibly count how many sling bags I own. But when the Mini Pandora of Givenchy was born, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I've been looking for this particular purse: The Blue Sheepskin Mini Pandora. In case you guys don't know, the Pandora comes in different sizes and COLORS. I was attracted to the medium-sized one at first, but when I saw it's baby, I fell in love. It was a sign I had to get it. After months of searching, I saw this online (facebook) from Designer Shop Manila, owned by Miss Denise So. She's a lifesaver- an angel sent from heaven. :) So, I purchased it right away, and now I OWN IT.

More on the Mini Pandora...
It's mini size, the sling, and the color that attracted me. This purse is deceiving as well. It looks so small but could fit in a lot of stuff. It has two compartments- front and back zipper. The front zipper is best for phones or keys; while the back zipper could hold tons of stuff like wallet, chargers, makeup kits (although I don't carry one with me), and a whole lot more.

I have this feeling that I'm gonna 'abandon' my other sling bags for a period of time since I'll be using this most of the time. Take note: I only choose when and where to bring this. It's too precious, I think I'm gonna die if something happens to it. (Overacting, lol)

Thank you to Denise again for giving this to me :) And most especially to my parents. They didn't hesitate to get this for me at all. xoxo

Baby boy.

Last Saturday, my baby boy visited me here in Manila. It was the long weekend, so the whole fam bam flew in from Cebu. I miss this boy so much- I was too happy to see him. :) Ultimate love of my life.

They came from Enchanted Kingdom that day, and met up with them in Greenbelt to have dinner in Sentro. Took us a while to be seated since there were 20 of us. (Yes, that many! haha) We were chatting the whole time, not really minding if we were too loud. It felt so good to catch up with everyone since I can't remember the last time I went home to Cebu, and had a family dinner.

They stayed still Monday, but wasn't able to go around with them since I went to Tagaytay and Batangas with my friends.

Took this shot in the basement parking of Greenbelt 5. Don't grow up too fast baby.

My baby with his tired face. :D

There's no set date yet when I'm going back to Cebu since we have games every weekend until November for the Philippine Futsal League which starts next week.

Escape.

This is a continuation of my previous blog 'Roadtrippin.' I grabbed these amazing shots from Aine :) Please visit her blog as well by clicking on her name. :)

When I read her blog about our weekend escape to Tagaytay and Batangas, I couldn't keep my eyes away from these pictures. It captured the beach ambiance, the good company, and most of all, the serenity of the place. Indeed, it was a relaxing, soothing and refreshing long weekend. The destination doesn't really matters. What matters most is the company and the journey it took you to your destination.

Take your pick :) Claudia, Aine, Jules

I could get used to this. "Lunch" outdoors, by the pool/beach, surrounded by palm trees and the like.

papiiiiii covering my feet with sand. :)

That's how I much I love the sun.
Thanks to Aine for the pictures! :)

Roadtrippin'.

Thank God for long weekends! Such a perfect time to unwind, relax, chill, get away from the city life. Over the weekend, we drove to Punta Fuego, Batangas and Tagaytay. Not many of you know that it would take at least 2 hours to get to a beach here in Manila. Unlike in Cebu, I can go there 30 minutes maximum, which explains why I'm such a beach bum. The beach is just like the next-door neighbor. Plus, don't forget the perfect sunny weather. On the other hand, here in Luzon, it rains so much that you don't really get the whole beach experience. Nonetheless, I was so happy with the beach already.

Long trips like these wouldn't feel that 'long' when you're with friends. Screaming, singing, eating, and so much more inside the car is worth the trip. We took so many videos to-and-from the place. It was something worth remembering considering the fact that it was my first beach get-away here in Luzon.

The rain didn't stop us from having fun! Here are some of the pictures from the trip!

Keep that head high, and smile through everything.

The Art of Boxing.

My friends talked me into joining them for some boxing. They've been doing it for a while now, and they encouraged me that it's really fun (and easy?!) :) So much for stress, school work, and the like, this is a good alternative to release all the negative vibes in your system. Trust me! It really works.

It was a Wednesday afternoon when we ( Nisan , Deya , Reena and  Jojo ) went to Elorde Boxing Gym in Katipunan. I was so amazed to see all the boxers and the trainers in action as we stepped inside the gym. My friends started their pre-boxing ritual, which comprised of wrapping their hands with the hand wraps, putting on their gloves, and warming up. I was introduced to Wendell, my trainer for the day. I was so happy to get him as a trainer because he was bisaya, so I was comfortable in conversing with him, and most of all, expressing my feelings. (hahaha!)

It was awkward at first, teaching me the basics- jab straight hook. :) But in the long run, I was already comfortable with the punches and the footwork. After how many rounds of 'sparring', there was an ab workout, which I hated! Luckily, the ab trainers were so funny, I just laughed my way through it.

Finally, picture taking! I can't pass this momentous event of my life without pictures! My first time boxing ever!

Payphone.

Before I reveal my very embarassing video on Maroon 5's Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa, let me share how my Tuesday went. I wasn't able to wake up (unsurprisingly) for my 7am French class, instead woke up at 10:30 am, and i was like asdfghjkl just missed class LOL So I went back to sleep, since my next class is not until 2:30 pm.

I was early for class, so I waited in the car to study for my test. And this what happened instead:

School girl look :)

in my corporate uniform (Thanks to Topshop for my top, Promod for my pants and Mango for my black blazer)
After my test, I went straight home. :) Couldn't think of anything else to do, so I made a video. hahahaha I know it's so embarassing but I'd still post it. hahaha

I be the first thing you'll notice is why I'm wearing sunnies? I wore it so it wouldn't be too obvious that I'm reading the lyrics on the screen. (not to mention, the added swag!)

By the way, the music I used is from Jayesslee- youtube sensation. This is the best cover made for this song ever! I love them. (Do I sound like them? haha!) Oh, and I did this in one take so my apologies if it's not perfect. haha :D

P.S DON'T MIND MY FACE OR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. I was going all out singing this song. haha! :) Hope you enjoyed!

Back to school, Back to reality.

After a week without classes (a week of helping out and hanging out with friends), it's Monday again. (Cue sound effect: dun dun dun dun) Because I slept so late for the past few days, my body clock's messed up. Night before, I was able to sleep at 4am, and had to wake up at 6am for school. I was amazed by the fact that I was able to wake up from my alarm clock. I had kitchen today, and I thought I wouldn't be able to get out of there alive since I was already a zombie to start the day with. But, here's what we cooked:

Chef Marc Chalopin's Roasted Rack of Lamb topped with Meaux mustard and parsley

Chef Marc's Roasted Chicken with glazed red onions and potatoes
And voila! This is my Roasted Chicken with glazed red onions and potatoes. Sorry if it's not perfect. :(

P.S Got out of lab so late today (5pm instead of 4pm). I was dead tired, went straight home. That's how my Monday went.

-Jules :)

Spread the Love.

Not all of you may know that due to the southwest monsoon that hit the Philippines last week, we didn't have classes the whole week (from Tuesday until Saturday), so we just resumed classes today. There were so many victims of the said Monsoon, due to flooding in so many areas in Luzon. It was so sad to see those less fortunate brothers and sisters, fighting for their lives, and their homes. Since we didn't have classes the whole week, I spent it helping out in the relief operations with my friends. It was so good to be able to reach out to them even in your own little way. I, myself, am so blessed to have a shelter that doesn't flood, more than enough food to sustain each day, cars to drive, a bed to sleep in; on the other hand, these people were struggling out there, couldn't keep themselves dry.

The first day I helped out was in Enderun Colleges. Since I'm a Culinary student, I helped out my fellow 'chefs' in the kitchen preparing hot meals for those who were famished, and couldn't find something to eat. It felt so good because I was doing what I love at the same time, helping out to thousands of fellow Filipinos. We nearly packed 4,000 meals that day; however, the whole operation, the school packed close to 10,000 meals for the areas affected like Taguig, Rizal, etc.
This was the second poster that Enderun released for the relief operations. I am so proud to be on this poster not because of publicity or vanity, but because I know I gave all my heart in helping all those who were affected.

The second time I helped out was in Gawad Kalinga Headquarters in Quezon City. I was with Deya RosalesMartina FelicianoMikhail TeReena Ongtao and other friends. We were so pumped up to be there packing relief goods composed of canned goods, noodles, milk, rice and water. Their system was so cool because there were stations set up around the room and you go around with your relief bag and pick up goods, and once all the goods are in there, you tie it up and put it in sacks. We did this from 2pm-7pm, and we didn't even mind the time we were there. We wanted to go with the group to deploy the goods to the affected areas, but they were not doing it until the next morning. Nonetheless, it was a great experience, heart-warming and an eye-opener for all of us.

Relief goods. Thank you to Pure Gold for all these. :)
That's me in action! Assembly line! Spot my "Waterproof" outfit: Dri-fit shirt and running shorts from NIKE and shoesies from Native. I was so weather/flood-ready :)
Share your blessings, and never expect anything in return.
